The Importance of Knowing God's Voice and Heart

Very recently, as I was coming out of prayer, I was overcome by a sense of tiredness. I knew by a stirring in my spirit, it was The LORDS doing. knowing well, that he needed me to nap because He was about to reveal something to me through a dream. So, I took a nap, and dream I did. There are some aspects of this dream that I will not speak on here, as I know they are personal to me, however there is one part of the dream I will speak on, because of its revelation, that can serve the larger body of believers of Christ.
In this dream, I was standing at a garden bed. It was full of root vegetables, very large root vegetables, specifically red sweet potatoes. Two people were present in this dream. These two the LORD uses regularly because of the meaning of their names. Michael and Rebecca. Standing in front of a sweet Potatoe, that was shaped like a human heart, ventricles and all, was Michael. Michael means: A gift from God or There is none like God. Rebecca means: To tie down, bind or to snare. To the right of this garden stood two citrus trees, one orange, one mandarin. Both these trees were full of fruit. The trees were normal size; however, the fruit was enormous. I giggled in the dream, because this enormous fruit (easily the size of a human head) looked so odd on these normal size citrus trees. I called Rebecca over to have a look at them. But her focus was not on the trees, but on the garden. She promptly plucked up a few sweet potatoes out of the garden and said, " These will make great mash potatoes!" Odd, yes but in the context of the revelation, not so much.
It's important that Michael was standing in front of the Potatoe shaped like a human heart. Often times, The LORD will use these two people to represent himself and the enemy, based on the meaning of their names. The fact that Rebecca, was more focused on the heart shaped sweet potatoes rather than the fruit says one thing. The devil, our enemy targets the heart and mind of the believer, with the intention of making " mash Potatoe"
The enemy's goal and the reason he targets the heart and mind of the children of God, is to create so much dissention, so much confusion, to wreak so much havoc, to distort your perception to such an extent, to bring so much distraction, to have you spinning to such a point, you don't know up from down, that you become consumed with your emotions and you cease to focus on the things that actually matte, which, as a believer, should always be what God asks you to do. You become so caught up, s out of character and increasingly creating a disconnect between your heart and The Father's, you don't see the enormous fruit growing right in front of you and hence, cease tending to it. The enemy wants to uproot God from your heart, he wants to cause a disconnect. God is in the details, He is always very intentional with dreams and will never give you the gift of dreaming, without imparting the gift of interpretation, hence Michael, standing in front of the Root vegetable shaped like a heart.
The impartation and revelation are simple. He was highlighting the importance of not only being mindful of your heart posture but also staying rooted in Him. Allowing Him to anchor in your heart. Ecclesiastes 3:11 tells us" He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put Eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does, from beginning to the end." He is saying in this, that He is in and knows your heart, knows your intentions because of this to stay grounded/rooted in His word- which is where He reveals His character to us. This allows you to not only guard your heart and allows the Holy Spirit to uproot the things, the lies the enemy attempts to plant but also to wield Jesus and His word, as a sword.
Hebrews 11:6 tells us " But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God, must BELIEVE that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him". How do we stay rooted, anchored in God? First and foremost, WE must BELIEVE He is who He says He is, and He tells us who He is in the bible (seeking). Building and nurturing your relationship with God through his word, which is His voice, through Jesus, and your identity in Christ, who you are to God, allows Him to take root so deeply that when the enemy inevitably comes, to make " mash Potatoe", he gets nowhere. When you anchor, you root yourself and build your faith on the solid rock foundation of Jesus Christ, that very foundation covers those roots, making you immovable, unshakable in Christ.
You can maintain your peace, even under attack and by staying focused on who your God is and who He says you are in Him, your fruit not only ripens and sweetens beautifully, but will become enormous, both in size and yield in i
ts time. Where God says, " You are loved, you are redeemed, you are saved, I will never leave you." The enemy counters with ' You are abandoned, you are forsaken, you are not saved", In the moment the attack comes, you must be able to rebuke it and him by simply saying " It Is written, I will never leave nor forsake you!" That is how you wield the sword. Your identity matters to the Father, matters to Jesus, don't let the enemy steal the most precious part of you as the children of God.
The second part of this dream I will mention centers around what happened next. Still standing at the same garden bed, I suddenly noticed a wallet that looked very much like my own in my hand. Before I could look inside to ascertain that, Rebecca (representing the enemy) promptly snatched it out of my hands, claiming it. I remember feeling a little shocked- but then with a booming and firm voice, Michael, (representing the God) spoke a simple but firm order " Give it back", He said. Rebecca immediately returned it to my hands. I was then able to ascertain it was in fact my wallet. What do our wallets hold? Essentially our lives. They hold our finances, our access to finance, our identification. We know the enemy comes to steal, kill destroy John 10:10. Many of us have had many things stolen from us not just in this last season but over the course of our lives. But God is assuring us of His promise in Proverbs 6:31; when the thief is caught, he will be made to pay bay back, seven-fold all he stole. The Lord was revealing and confirming to me, that we are in fact in that season right now. The Lord, restores, rewards and renews those who love Him. Hold firm to that promise.
My prayer is that, as you finish reading you find yourself encouraged and edified. God is so good and faithful.
God is in the details- look for Him there. X
